Well I'm off on Wednesday to Las Vegas for 2+ months. Sadly I'll be bike free (until I give in and buy one, anyway! : so I'll be suffering withdrawal symptoms when I get back in December. I expect I'll check in and see how it's going periodically. So you can let me know if anything exciting happens. I'm going to be broke when I get back after being unemployed for 3 months, so if anyone needs a good but expensive nanny in January, let me know. See you. [waving hand smiley]

We were at the Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas at the weekend. I borrowed one of their (truly dreadful) hire bikes and did six miles, which was enough in 85o heat! I decided that when I'm flush I'm going to do a 5* hotel bike tour. It would be great - you wouldn't have to carry anything and they have to be nice to you! Just once, for a change! Hopefully, I will be getting out a bit soon. I have trip to the bike shop planned that I haven't fit in yet. They think you're mad if you walk a mile down the street here, but I have seenn a couple of cyclists on nice bikes. (and accosted 2 for bike shop reccomendations!)

Well, I've found someone with a bike I can borrow - I haven't seen it yet though, so I hope it's OK. Otherwise, I've found a cool bike shop, with so quite nice road bikes. If I buy one out here, it should be a road bike as I haven't got one, only tourers and an MTB. The shopping is great here - the bike shop is open till 7pm and the supermarket is 24 hours. I found a cool sports store that does cycling stuff and camping stuff as well as walking, fishing, golf, kayaking stuff and all the normal things as well. The bikes looked basic and the tents were quite flimsy, but the accessories were cool. The American tents often seem to have a half fly sheet that finishes 3 feet from the floor, which I don't think I'd fancy in England.

I'll wave at it for you! I don't need to leave money in casinos - the bike shop keeps all of it for me before I get that far. ;D I went out on the borrowed Trek mountain bike today, it was nice. Despite the 8 lane roads, it isn't too bad cycling - the cars go relatively slowly and they don't have to squeeze past you, because there are so many lanes. It's 28 degrees in the day and about 20 in the evening, so the ride last night at 9 pm in shorts and a mini dress was lovely.
