hi i have a carrera valour road bike bought new 3 years agoe never been used ime doing the coast to coast what do i have to change on the bike to make it a touring bike

It depends how it's set up now. It is easy to put a rear rack on and you will probably want mudguards. You might want a front rack, and which one you need will depend on whether you have braze-ons (holes) to screw it to. Otherwise, just make sure that it is comfortable. Try a weekend trip to a local campsite to make sure you are familiar with riding it loaded and to see what you need and don't need. There is no point in wasting weight and space on a kettle for example. I occasionally leave my merino long johns at home (August usually ) and I always regret it, as there is always at least one night when it is too cold not to have them to sleep in. Ask a touring bike shop to advise you what you an do. You might want to put a wider range of gears on for example, and they could advise on what is doable.
