I wondered if some of you more experienced cyclists might be able to offer me some advice.
I took my newly-bought, second-hand Ridgeback Panorama into a reputable independent bike store in south London to get a stuck seatpost removed. I was told it would need to be sent off to ColourTech in Dartford, but it’d take a week to ten days until it’d be ready to collect from the store. It’s now been well over a month and they’ve pushed back six times on a collection date.
I spoke to the store owner today and his response was that it’s just the nature of the industry and I have to get used to it.
At what point is it fair to refuse to pay the whole fee? Who can you complain to about independent bike stores?
Has anyone else come out of a bike store feeling disrespected and even ripped-off?
I love this Panorama and I know you will recognise how long a month can be for a cycling commuter to be without a bike!
Any advice would be really welcome.
Thanks
Ciaran
