Sat-Nav alarm
Hi I have just got a science update, due to increased sunspot activity. Solar flares are expected, to drown out Sat-Nav satellite signals. Sometimes for days: sending navigation back to the Stone Age.
I am thinking of dropping the Gamin. And going back to a map, or I may investigate mobile phone navigation like a Iphone or a new tablet like a XPERIA X10
Has any one had experience with this new technology? What are your plans for navigation for the summer? ZOOF

I use maps. Clarion says we can get a satnav when the battery runs out on the OS maps ;D. I like looking at maps anyway so that we can detour to go through places with silly names. You can't do that with a satnav! It means I can sit in the tent in the evening and look where we've been and where we are going. We also sit in bed at home with a few maps and plan routes and look for campsites and so on. Did I mention that I love maps? ;D
