that was my short cut through the park not a good idea. the deepest i rode through was with the water over the top of my bars. first gear and my legs going round like a paddle steamer. it takes more than gortex to stay dry in those conditions, i recommend bin liners on each leg, very classy! cheers, velocidad.

That looks fun. I was camping at Watlington in Oxfordshire last weekend. Fortunately the site is halfway up a hill. On Thursday, I stayed at a site in Hegerley near Slough. Fortunatley it didn't start raining until I was putting the last peg in. On Friday, I had to wait until 1.30 for it to stop raining long enough for me to strike the tent. It's the first time ever that the seems around the zip have let water in. Cycleman cycled over to Watlington with me, and we passed cars crawling through a flood, but only one place where I chose to get off, as cycling a fully laden tourer through a 20 yard flood on a road I don't know is not top of my list of things to do. On the way back on Monday, it was all much drier and only the last 10 miles or so were raining.
