I just got one. It will melt your aluminium pans unless you keep it low. Make sure it is the 2 tap version. It will out cook my MSR pocket rocket and any gas burner which looses all pressure in cold weather. If you want a chat ring 01785 618544

I've managed to buy, and sell!, three MSR stoves in the past four years and never actually had the guts to use one in anger yet. Scares the hell out fo me with the priming and flames everywhere thing. When I did ttr it out safely at home the noise was pretty terrible too! I'll stick with the Trangia and a pocket rocket for emergencies.

The Trangia thing is as much down to your attitude as much as anything else! They are slow, no arguing that. I arrive at the site and get my junk unloaded and then light the Trangia to be boiling brew water. I pitch the tent and it is about right timing wise there. I like the Lack of Technology, lack of things ot go wrong approach and there is something relaxing about sitting near a gently pootling stove at night. They are a bit bulky but that is using the pans and windshield etc. An MSR and seperate kit would take up not much less space.
